Spoken word poetry opportunity for secondary schools
Open to secondary schools in Harrow, Barnet, Brent, Camden, Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham, Westminster and Ealing.
Throughout Autumn term 2019, students at 10 participating secondary schools will write and perform their own original spoken word poetry, guided by Eastside’s expert Spoken Word Poets.
Each participating class will receive two spoken word poetry workshops, and will perform in your schools spoken word poetry slam hosted by Eastside's Spoken Word Poet.
All students will then enter their spoken word poetry into the I know I wish I will competition online.
500 young people from across the nation will be selected to feature in a record-breaking 25-hour Poetry Marathon on stage in London’s West End.
Why should my school apply to participate in I know I wish I will?
I know I wish I will is designed to complement English, Drama, PSHE or extra curricular provision.
Improve students’ oracy, self-belief and teamwork skills, as well as creative writing and performance techniques.

An inspirational assembly & 2 full days of spoken word poetry workshops delivered by Eastside’s Spoken Word Poet.
